Iraqi minister says many issues solved in talks with Lukoil

MOSCOW, Sep 1 (PRIME) -- Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi met with Vagit Alekperov, CEO of Russian oil major Lukoil, on Thursday and solved the bulk of outstanding problems with the company, al-Luaibi told PRIME.

“We held intensive negotiations with Lukoil and we have solved the majority of existing issues,” he said.

Lukoil said in a statement that Alekperov informed the minister about successful drilling of a third exploratory well at Block 10, and confirmed that the company discovered commercial reserves of oil in the Eridu field in Iraq.
